Draft Treatment Target Audience The target audience for my dance music video are sophisticated AB demographic 16-25-year olds. Owing to this it is imperative that I plan, produce and edit a video that is both suitable and appealing for my target audience. To ensure that I successfully achieve this it is fundamental that I produce a fair but realistic view of the changes from childhood into adulthood and subsequent consequences that this may entail. Synopsis of Characters and representations that will feature in my video Characters Benedict Benedict will play the role of a young adult, who is torn between his love for basketball and his insatiable appetite for narcotics. I got my inspiration for his character from the 1995 American coming of age drama 'The Basketball Diaries'. I am mirroring Benedict to the character of Jim Carrol played by Leonardo Di Caprio. I am aiming to raise awareness for homelessness within my video. I am aiming to successfully present a stable family who have been broken by drugs leading to homelessness and the harsh reality that millions across the world face daily. Benedict’s character will an aspiring basketball star who is pressured by his successful mother to achieve. However, owing to the basketball team he plays for he is surrounded by acquaintances who get him involved in both deal and abusing drugs, forcing him off his successful career path and heading towards a dark future. ...
Placement of Logo and title of the song in my music video
Artists Logo and Title of the Song I am aiming to place both the artist’s logo and the title of the song at the start of the video. This is owing to the conventions of dance music video. ‘Opaque music’s’ logo will be the first shot of my music video and will aim to promote both the Martin Garrix and my music production company from the onset of the video, which will anchor the values behind wealth, success and enjoyment. Following the music production company, I am aiming to then display both the artist’s name and the title of the song. Both the title of the song and the artists name will be placed in text over the introductory shots of the London eye. I have chosen both the shots of the London Eye owing to their shot angles and the large area of grey sky which could be contrasted with black text, to create binary opposition with the artist’s name and the song name.
